Drop in for South Wales Baby Loss Network coffee and catch up
A support group for South Wales Police officers who have experienced baby loss is set to meet this week and Federation members are invited for a cuppa and a chat.
The Baby Loss Peer Support Group meets in Y Bont at Force headquarters on Friday (30 August) from 10am to 2pm.
The meeting aims to make Federation members aware of the support that is available to bereaved parents.
If you, a loved one, or a member of your team has experienced baby or child loss, then please drop by – even if it is for a slice of cake.
The group has been created and co-ordinated by Sergeant Alison (Ali) Robinson (pictured), Detective Constable Amy Evans and customer service manager Katie Aubrey.
Officers can join the group members anytime between 10am and 2pm on Friday for a cuppa and cake and some goodies, and guests have also been invited to offer support.
Heartfelt welcome
Ali added: “There will be a warm heartfelt welcome for you if you want to attend, or if you are a member of a team which includes someone who has had to endure the loss of a baby, and you'd like to know more about supporting them.
“We hope to see you there, whether it’s for five minutes or four hours.”
Ali has spoken about the Baby Loss Peer Support Group in the summer edition of Federation Focus, the magazine of South Wales Police Federation.
She said: “Having someone there who understands what you’re going through is priceless, it’s so comforting. It’s not just support for when you’re going through the loss, but afterwards too. Some of our members suffered losses many years ago.”
