Pay and Morale Survey 2024 - Fed chair urges members to complete response

South Wales Police Federation chair Phil Walker has reminded members the latest Pay and Morale Survey is currently open for participation.
The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) announced the launch of the survey last month.
The annual research method is one of the most comprehensive across policing in England and Wales and is set to gauge how officers feel on topics including pay, wellbeing and annual leave.
Other questions will ask respondents about both personal and Force-wide morale.
Findings from the survey will then supply the Federation with reliable information to take into discussions with the Force, which can then have influence on decision-making and staff treatment.

Evidence

Phil said: “South Wales Police had 943 respondents in last year’s survey – this response rate of 27 per cent was good, compared to other forces, but we can always aim higher.
“The more South Wales respondents there are, the more accurate of a picture we get into how happy our members truly are.
“We know that at every level, there is a long way to go for morale in the police to get to where it needs to be. By filling in the survey, you can help provide that evidence to make things better for police officers.”
The PFEW’s Pay and Morale Survey 2024 closes on Monday 28 October.
Members should have received an email containing a link to the survey. If they have not received the email, please check your junk if it still cannot be found, contact the Federation office.
