South Wales PC Geoffrey Allsopp died on this day 54 years ago.

Geoffrey was just 24 when he died in an on-duty motorbike accident on 9 December 1970.

South Wales Police Federation chair Phil Walker said: “Today we remember Geoffrey whose tragic death would have been felt across the Force, particularly given that he was so young in service. Our thoughts today are with his family and friends who continue to feel his loss.”
