The winter edition of Federation Focus, the magazine of South Wales Police Federation, is available to download now.

 

We meet some of the winners from the #TeamSWP Awards 2024.

 

They include a Special who has dedicated a decade to volunteering, a detective who has established a network of defibrillators in his local community, and a pair of courageous cops who saved a man’s life after he set himself on fire.

 

In his first Christmas column as branch chair, Phil Walker looks back on the past 12 months and looks ahead to 2025.

 

Phil takes aim at a new Home office unit for ‘overseeing police performance’, saying the money would be better spent improving pay and working conditions.

 

 

And he urges members to take a full part in the upcoming Federation elections, whether that is by putting themselves forward to become a workplace rep or by voting for their preferred candidates. There is also a handy step-by-step guide to the election process.
