Christmas wishes from South Wales Police Federation

South Wales Police Federation would like to wish its members and everyone connected to policing a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

The festive season gives us an opportunity to reflect on all of our hard work, success and dedication as we approach the end of another busy year in the police force.

Out of nearly 3000 regular officers and over 200 Special Constables in South Wales Police, many make us proud as Federation members every day, supported by a number of Force staff and volunteers.

As always, our organisation has spent this year standing up for your rights, shining a light on all your good work, and working towards positive change for you.

We are aware that a number of police officers will make sacrifices over this festive period by remaining on duty while much of the public benefit from the chance to switch off from work commitments.

Essentially, this is what serves as the platform for these people, even without always knowing it, to enjoy a safe and peaceful Christmas, and that should never be lost sight of.

And while we will always be the first to sing your praises for this, we also want to remind you to keep safe and look after your wellbeing in this time.

If you are ever struggling, then please reach out for support.

For the time you do get with loved ones this Christmas, make sure you take the chance to relax and enjoy yourselves.

Thank you for all that you do.

Phil Walker, chair of South Wales Police Federation

Mike George, secretary of South Wales Police Federation
