Fed elections: find out more about becoming a workplace rep
The nomination period for elections is now open and will run until 24 January 2025. Voting will take place between 3 and 25 February, with results set to be announced on 27 February.
And if you want to know more about becoming a Fed rep, then consider attending a virtual #FedElects Café on Tuesday (14 January) at 4pm.
The virtual session, which is being held by the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW), will be hosted by national wellbeing lead Hayley Aley and acting national board member Jon Carter-Lang will be hosting the session.
The event will cover:
-
What the role of a Fed rep entails and why it is important
-
The value a Fed rep brings to colleagues and the professional growth opportunities
-
How you can nominate yourself
You can register for the session here.
All South Wales Police Federation members, from PC to chief inspector, including Specials, can nominate themselves and stand for election as a workplace rep. Information on how to put yourself forward as a Fed rep should have been emailed to all members.
Should candidates be successful, then they will automatically become part of their local Branch Council. From there, they can stand to be on the local Branch Board, and then stand for a regional or a national role if they would like to.
Those from under-represented groups are being encouraged to put themselves forward, to help better reflect the diversity of the membership and the communities the police serve.
