Factsheet provides tips for managing stress

South Wales Police Federation members are being urged to make use of factsheet published by Police Mutual as part of International Stress Awareness Week which runs until Friday (11 November).

The factsheet features a range of suggestions and ideas aimed at helping people manage their worries and stress levels. It provides important advice to those who may be starting to feel overwhelmed.

South Wales Police Federation chair Steve Treharne said: “We have always treated the mental wellbeing of our members incredibly seriously and in challenging times such as these we welcome any resources that can help.

“This factsheet is a useful guide to stress management and provides advice and suggestions that people can adopt into their everyday lives.

“Police officers are often exposed to dangerous, stressful situations and it is important that they recognise the impact that can have on their wellbeing.”

International Stress Awareness Week was created in 2018 to raise awareness about stress prevention and provides a great opportunity to take a moment to think about personal wellbeing and find out more on how to manage stress.

This year marks 24 years since the establishment of Stress Awareness Day, which is held on the first Wednesday in November each year and has been since 1998.
