South Wales PC Jeffrey Phillips died on this day in 1983.

Jeffrey, 35, died in a road accident while he was instructing on a motorcycle course on 22 July 1983.

South Wales Police Federation chair Phil Walker said: “Our thoughts today are with Jeffrey’s family, friends and former colleagues as they mark this sad anniversary.

“But we also remember the service Jeffrey gave to the Force and to the communities we all serve.”
