Mental wellbeing: support on hand

With research showing that emergency services workers are twice as likely as the public to identify problems at work as the main cause of their mental health problems, Police Mutual has produced a factsheet about mental wellbeing to mark today’s Samaritans Awareness Day.

The research also indicates that emergency service workers are significantly less likely to seek help.

The awareness day is held each year with Samaritans branches in the UK and Republic of Ireland holding local events to raise awareness of the charity’s work. The Samaritans listen to anyone who’s struggling to cope, at any time of the day or night.

More details about the Samaritans and the awareness day can be found in the factsheet from Police Mutual.

Police Mutual, offers a wide range of initiatives, services and support to make a positive difference to the lives of serving and retired police officers and staff.

It has also produced a number of other factsheets for July 2024.
