South Wales Police Federation secretary Mike George has sent congratulations to officers who have been recognised in the New Year Honours list.
Mark Travis, who retired as assistant chief constable in the summer, receives a King’s Police Medal (KPM).
A KPM is also awarded to Danny Richards, who is also retired. Danny rose to the rank of temporary assistant chief constable.

Mike said: “On behalf of South Wales Police Federation, I would like to congratulate Mark and Danny on their King’s Police Medals.
“The KPM is one of the highest honours that a police officer can receive and it reflects their important contribution to the Force.
“To be honoured in the New Year list is due recognition for their dedication and commitment to policing in South Wales, and is well deserved.”
