South Wales Police Federation members opted into the Group Insurance Scheme (GIS) can now access the plan’s benefits more easily than ever through their smartphone wallets.
Thanks to Philip Williams and Co., which manages the GIS, you can now add a digital membership pass to your Apple or Android wallet, to sit alongside the likes of payment cards, event tickets and other membership cards.
Once it’s in your wallet, the pass can be viewed in a few short taps – even without an internet connection – and will not need to be re-downloaded, with any updates registered automatically.
From here, you will be able to see the latest benefits booklet, travel insurance policy and claims information, as well as a list of clickable phone numbers and email links relevant to GIS services.
Wallet App
For iPhone users, you can access these documents by opening your Wallet app, tapping the pass and then tapping the three dots displayed in the top-right corner of your screen. Alternatively, you can open your Wallet app through the shortcut of double-clicking your lock button, tapping the pass and then tapping the ‘i’ icon in the bottom-right corner.
And for Android users, you can navigate to the same area by opening your Wallet app, tapping the pass and heading to the ‘pass details’ option.
