The South Wales Police Choir will perform for only the second time when its members sing at the Federation’s summer charity ball.
Detective Chief Inspector Scot Anderson, who helped set up the choir, said they were excited about performing at South Wales Police Federation’s Blue Heart Ball.
Scot said: “We only formed in September, so it’s still quite new, but the chance to perform at the Blue Heart Ball was too good to pass up.
“It’s really exciting, and we’re looking forward to being part of a special occasion.”
The choir, which was founded in September, will perform as guests arrive at the black-tie event. They are already working on five songs, which span classical music, popular show tunes, and Welsh favourites.
The choir, which draws members from across the Force, including serving and retired officers and staff, is always looking for new members.
Scot said: “It’s a really nice vibe because you’ve got people from all across the organisation at all levels and in all kinds of roles coming together.
“Ranks are left at the door, and everyone has a lovely time.”
Concert
The choir made its debut performance in December when it joined other choirs and the Force band for a Christmas concert at Llandaff Cathedral.
Scot said: “We only had about six rehearsals, so it was quite a big ask, especially given that one of the songs was in Welsh, which could be challenging.
“It was a good event that went really well, and we’re now looking forward to the ball coming up.”
