The South Wales Police Family Fun Day is back again for 2026, giving Federation members the opportunity of some summer entertainment and a chance to connect with the communities they serve.
The Force will open its doors at headquarters in Bridgend on Saturday 6 June, bringing together members of the public with officers, staff and volunteers for an afternoon of festivities and downtime.
Various activities and attractions are set to feature, including police vehicle displays, forensics and first-aid workshops, virtual reality headsets, garden games and a kids’ dressing-up area.
A selection of specialised police departments will also make an appearance, made up of officers and their four-legged partners from the Force’s dog and mounted units, as well as personnel and equipment from its firearms unit.

Beyond these planned attractions, there will be food and drinks stalls and plenty of time to socialise with attendees, meaning Federation members can enjoy interactions with the public in a relaxed environment away from their duties.
Branch secretary Mike George has highlighted the wellbeing value in this opportunity, encouraging Fed members to get themselves down to HQ for the free event.
He said: “Even if you are not an officer taking part in the displays, I think it will be more than worthwhile attending the fun day and taking the family along with you too.
“There will be something for everyone, with many different options to keep the children entertained on an early summer’s Saturday.

“Aside from an affordable family day-out, it also represents a chance to feel proud and satisfied as a police officer by mixing with the public and representing the Force without actually being at work.
“The chance to do this doesn’t come around very often, and it’s something which could offer the world of good because it will serve as a reminder of the incredible job you do for your community.
“Instead of dealing with the typical demands and pressures of being on shift, you’ll be able to take a step back and see how much appreciation is out there among the public for policing.
“It’s important that we use platforms like this to strengthen those relationships and celebrate the positive impact we all have across South Wales.”
The 2026 South Wales Police Family Fun Day will run from 10am to 4pm. All admissions are free, with last entry at 3:30pm.
